Top 9 Moments from Game of Thrones, Winterfell

Now that I have officially jumped on the Game of Thrones bandwagon (check out my previous post). I thought it would only be right to share my favourite parts of the remaining episodes. There were plenty of great moments from the first episode of season 8 and a few that I think could have been handled better (come on Sam, you could have had a drink with Jon first). Anyway, in no particular order, here are my top 9 moments from Game of Thrones season 8, episode 1, Winterfell.

1) Yara headbutting Theon

I mean, I've never loved Yara more than I did at this moment. She managed to show her frustration and then forgive Theon in the most Iron Islands way possible.

2) The opening scene mirroring the pilot

All the little Easter eggs referencing the start of Game of Thrones made me so happy, although I doubt this happiness will last.

3) The dragons shipping Jon & Daenerys

According to other humans on the internet, the dragon's were being protective on Daenerys, but they didn't seem to be too mad about Jon kissing her.

4) Arya & Jon's reunion

We have all been waiting for this moment for so long, and it did not disappoint. There was a lot of brilliant dark humour in their meeting, and I'm looking forward to seeing Arya meet Daenerys.

5) "I've always had blue eyes."

This moment was one of the rare occasions I have genuinely laughed during Game of Thrones. It was the perfect way to break the tension, and I hope there are more moments like this throughout the season.

6) Bran & Jaime see each other

Oh boy, am I keen to see how this bit goes, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau managed to convey so much emotion in such a brief scene. I doubt anyone will be thrilled to see Jaime and I'm curious to see if his presence is the one thing that will get Bran to show any real emotion.

7) How nervous Jon was to ride a dragon

I have a feeling that is was my absolute favourite moment in the episode. I can't blame Jon for being a touch nervous about riding a dragon. Hopefully, he will have more opportunities to gain his confidence with it.

8) The new opening

Do I even need to explain why I loved this?

9) Joking about Joffrey's wedding

Sansa and Tyrion managed to handle seeing each other again exceptionally well, given the circumstances. They both managed to survive the aftermath of Joffrey's wedding and can joke about it now (somewhat).
